The face should be at least fifty percent of the photo’s area, but not more than 60 percent. The Indian government has relaxed its photo requirements for children. If you have a good quality photo, you can upload it on the E-Visa website.

Format

You can easily submit a photo for an Indian visa if you know the right format. While the requirements for Indian visa photos are slightly different from those for passports, the format and resolution of the photo should be identical. In addition, the picture must be clear and have the same tone quality throughout. The photo must be of you looking directly into the camera, with your eyes open, and your face neutral. If you are applying for a religious visa, you may wear headgear, but this is only allowed for religious purposes.
